Founded in 1884 by the Reverend William John Bradbury, Bradbury and Son was a developing and successful business which by 1912 was serving many of the famous London hotels and clubs.

The 1914-8 war and rationing changed the trading pattern very substantially, with business largely confined to a 75 mile radius of Buxton.

In September 1940 the business became a limited Company. William Bradbury took over from his father after army demob in 1947 and successfully ran it until his untimely death in 1974.

Alan and Joan Marsden guided the Company through nearly 20 years to its modern premises built for them in 1991, increasing sales close to £5m.

In 1994 the Company was acquired by the Paul family, and after doubling the building size in 2001 then moved to its new state of the art 2,000 pallet facility in 2003 investing over £2.5m in building and systems.

Bradburys has developed as a modern forward thinking business with customer needs at the heart of its plans. Maintaining the best of is past knowledge and traditions, combined with customer led innovation and a real can do approach has seen a 1000% increase in sales, with more to come!
