Bradburys Pass the challenging new BRC audit with an ‘A’ Grade
Bradbury and Son have achieved the highest ‘A’ grade during our annual BRC audit in March 2009. The challenging new BRC Version 5 with additional 100 new clauses that has been in place since January 2009 from the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
BRC is a technical standard that companies supplying retailer branded food products must adhere to. It is an internationally recognised achievement being accepted by retailers around the world.
BRC audits cover all aspects of a business which impact on food safety, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), Quality Management Systems, Environmental Standards, Product and Process control and Personnel. Companies are graded on how well it meets all the criteria with an A grade being the highest.
A good BRC grade is a benefit to any business. It provides assurance and confidence for customers. Continuous inspection and corrective actions in key areas throughout the year also ensures that standards remain high.
Mark Whitakker, Bradbury and Son’s Technical Director said ‘I’m extremely pleased with the grade, all personnel and departments contributed to this year’s outstanding success with a renewed vigor of team spirit and quality driven focus. While quality remains at the forefront of the companies’ key drivers’, continual improvement is helping prepare us for this years challenges’
